Every time I finish a book, I set it down and just think about what I’ve read for a minute. Sometimes I get a book hangover, other times I can’t wait to jump into my next TBR on the list. Every time, though, I start ranting to my husband about what I did and didn’t like. I tell him about the characters, the plot twists, what annoyed me, what I loved, etc. Finally, he said, “Why don’t you start a blog?” My response, “Yeah right! I don’t know a thing about blogging.”
A couple weeks later, I’ve started a blog.
In all fairness, I really don’t know what I’m doing, but I do know that I love reading. I read about 4-5 books a week depending on length, so I have a lot to share with you. My goal for this blog is to post book reviews and other bookish things in the hopes that I inspire someone else to read something out of their comfort zone. Eventually, I would love to start beta reading for authors, and I’ll post more about that later.
In the mean time, here’s a little bit about me. My husband proposed to me at Hogwarts (yes, you read that right). We went to Universal Studios Orlando last December, rushed straight to King’s Cross Station and entered the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter where he got down on one knee. Needless to say, that was the best day of my life.
I grew up in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho which is a small, resort town in the Panhandle. While it’s beautiful, it felt like a retirement community. I’ve recently moved to Boise, the capitol of Idaho, and quit my corporate job. If working my way up a corporate ladder taught me anything, it’s that you need creativity and freedom to be happy in life… two things that job was lacking. I graduated in May with my Bachelor’s degree, and after a short hiatus, I plan to pursue my Master’s in Literature (another reason why I’ve started this blog).
All in all, I hope to have a community for bibliophiles where you can come for honest reviews, book recommendations, and help if you’re writing something yourself. Thanks for checking it out! 🙂
